Online Meeting of All Unions and Associations strongly opposes 2nd VRS in one voice.
A meeting of all unions and associations was held online on 14-09-2024. All the major unions and associations, expressed it’s strong opposition to one more VRS, which the BSNL Management and the DoT are trying to implement. The meeting took note that, 80,000 employees have taken VRS in 2019 and thereafter, BSNL Management has abolished two lakh ninety three thousand Non-Executive and Executive posts (2,93,524 posts to be exact ) in the name of “Restructuring of Manpower”. This has imposed immense work load on the existing employees. Further, BSNL’s Landline and Broadband connections are wiped out due to poor and inadequate maintenance. FTTH service, which was BSNL’s pride till a few years back, is facing massive surrendering of connections. Under these circumstances, the meeting decided that, one more VRS will be disastrous for BSNL. The meeting also decided to submit a memorandum to the CMD BSNL on this issue and to seek a meeting with him.
