Ahmedabad:

The high court on Friday issued a notice to the Centre and admitted a PIL challenging the New Pension Scheme on the grounds that the employees’ money can’t be linked with the market, risking pensioners’ future.
For petitioner Pranav Desai, advocate Vasavdatta Bhatt demanded that the new pension scheme be struck down. The petition demanded that the scheme can at best be optional for employees.
Taking strong exception to pension funds’ linking with the market which has got its own risks, the petitioner called for similar treatment for all employees who retired before 2004 and after that.
