40th Get to Gather of BDPA (INDIA), Ahmedabad District was held on 18.11.2016 at 15.00 hours in Ahmedabad Medical Association Hall, Ashram Road, Ahmedabad under the presidentship of Shri A.N. Patel. Shri A.A. Patel anchored the event.
Smt. Thakur sung a prayer in memory of first anniversary of late Shri J.B. Kumpavat. S/Shri A.N. Patel, D.V. Limbachia, V.H. Kapopara, A.A. Patel and D.D. Mistry paid tribute to memories of late Shri J.B. Kumpavat. The Audience observed two minutes of all those who expired during this quarter.
Shri Sarojben Kadia offered a prayer and the Semnar on Knee Replacement commenced by informative speeches and slide shows by Dr. Maharshi Bhatt and Amit Agarwal from Aditya Orthopedic Hospital, Ahmedabad. The Hospital offered some special concession to BSNL Pensioners and said that their charges were as per the package and MOU with BSNL and no extra charges are levied by them.
Shri A.N. Patel gave brief report on their recent visit to New Delhi highlighting achievements of Bharat Pensioner Samaj, New Delhi and holding of its 61st AGM at Mavlankar Hall, Constitution Club of India, New Delhi. From BDPA (INDIA), s/Shri M.R. Vashist, A.N. Patel, D.D. Mistry, R.C. Sharma and N.A. Patel attended. Shri A.N. Patel in Delegate Session spoke on various irritating issues of BSNL Pensioners and discrimination being faced by them. He advocated for Separate Pension Adalat for BSNL Pensioners, Provision to consult the Pensioners Association at par with Working BSNL Employees while discussing the recommendation of 3rd P.R.C. which will be out in the month of December, 2016 and effective from 01.01.2017. He sought help from BPS on the issue.
Shri D.D. Mistry spoke on the brief history of BDPA (INDIA) and its multifarious welfare activities. He said that CCA Gujarat is on the job and for Ahmedabad District 1500 cases of Post-01.01.2006 and 1200 cases of pre-01010.2007 have been cleared and revised PPOs issued. The Pensioners Associations are extending assistance to CCA Office for timely dispatch of PPOs to the pensioners. The work will be completed as scheduled as per the information given by the CCA Office.
On the issue of delivery of Quarterly Magazine, he said that the responsibility of BDPA (INDIA) is only to ensure its posting up to the Postal Authorities and thereafter exclusive responsibility lies with the Postal Administration. BDPA (INDIA) does not accept responsibility of delivery at the door step of the members as it has no control over the agency.
He gave the details of their Meeting with Smt. Sujata Ray, Director (HR), BSNL and Shri R.K. Mishra Member Services DoT on 15.11.2016. He said that a web to know the status of case for Medical Reimbursement is in final stage for its experimental launching for BSNL Corporate Office. He said that chances for getting night concession on telephone are remote. He added that the attention of the authorities have been drawn on delay on issuance of revised PPOs for 78.2% IDA Merger.
He requested the Pensioners for Pension Revision Donation to strengthen the Association and so far more than 280 Pensioners have come forward. To achieve target of arrears from 01.01.2007 to 09.06.2013 and Gratuity, Leave Encashment etc for the Pensioners who retired during this period strong finance is essential. He stressed upon the immediate need of the Association’s own building.
It was also decided to approach the judiciary for the Arrear Issue consulting sister Pensioners Association, if we failed to achieve the goal with our present approach.
Shri A.N. Patel said that now such get to gather have become costly affairs and cannot be continued with the financial assistance from the members and call for suggestion. After discussion, it was unanimously decided that henceforth a token charge of Rs.50/- will be levied from the members attending such meetings.
S/Shri A.N. Patel and D.D. Mistry were honored with banquet and shawl for their contribution to the Association.
From Surat Telecom District, Shri Ghadiali President and Salunke District also participated in the meeting.
More than 360 Pensioners attended the gathering which was concluded with singing National Anthem and Dinner.
