First Get to gather of Aravalli District was held in Modasa on 01.02.2018 in Ramji Mandir Sabha Mandap, Near Modasa under the Presidentship of Shri M.G. Kankrolia. Sri A.D. Nayi, Branch Secretary, Aravalli District accorded warm welcome to the Pensioners and Guests. He said that within three months 85 members have been enrolled and figure of 100 will be crossed by the month end. He explained the difficulties being faced by the Pensioners who were asked to present themselves physically before the SSP Office for submitting live certificate instead of their Pension Disbursing Authorities. Shri G.V. Shukla, District Secretary, Himatnagar SSA assured his cooperation in settlement of genuine grievances of the Pensioners and congratulated the Aravalli District activists for marvelous growth within short span of time.
Shri R.M. Gor, Divisional Officer (CFA), Modasa greeted the Office bearers for holding such event providing unique opportunity to mingle with each other after retirement at one places to exchange their pleasantries. While speaking on the issue of 3rd Pay Revision for BSNL he said that Pensioners Cooperation was of equal importance to achieve goal. In democratic process, number/strength was of prime importance for success. He added that he was extremely happy to meet the pensioners after pretty long time; who had worked with him during their service period.
Shri A.N. Patel, Executive President gave brief history of BDPA (INDIA) formation in 2006 and its elevation to all India Body in 2012. Ahmedabad District has held 43 get to gather cum Educative Seminars so far; providing space for the pensioners to exchange their social activities after retirement. He said regular publication of quarterly magazine furnishing latest important rulings for the pensioners was one of historic work under taken by the Association. Posting of pictorial Birth Day Card to each Pensioner on his birth date was welcome step appreciated by all the Pensioners which was involving heavy expenditure. To achieve our goal of Pension Arrear w.e.f. 01.01.2007 to 09.06.2013 with all the pensionary benefits was herculean task before the Association for which financial assistance from all the Pensioners was needed. He said that Association is alive to their expectation of 3rd Wage Revision Committee Report’s implementation for BSNL Pensioners as well.
Shri D.D. Mistry in his brief speech threw lights on all the Pending issues at BSNL HQ /DoT level explaining the steps being taken by the Association. He said that we have to keep patience to avoid multiplicity in legal process and making the issue more complex/confusing which will result in delaying the process. For issuance of orders extending Medical Reimbursement Quarterly BSNLMRS in Cash without voucher, the file is moving with snail speed making the pensioners restive. We have to understand STATUS of BSNL PENSIONERS on DATE and move the issue with working Unions/Associations. The decision to merge MTNL with BSNL is making the situation worse as it will result in fiscal difficulties for the Corporate Office. We have to watch dog of the events and maintain/manage the issue of Pension Revision w.e.f 01.1.2017 for BSNL Pensioners. Our struggle for holding Pension Adalat by BSNL/DoT at their head quarter continues. He stress on need for Association’s own Office in Ahmedabad for which financial cooperation from all the Pensioners was of prime necessity. He assured that the Quarterly Magazine and Birth Day Greeting activities will be continued despite many odds. He thanked the organizers of the event.
