BDPA (INDIA) – THRISSUR GENERAL BODY MEETING HELD
On 26-3-18, BDPA (INDIA) – THRISSUR conducted General Body Meeting of Thrissur District Unit in Hotel Alankar P O Road, Thrissur to discuss on recent developments in organizational matters. Shri A F Joseph, president presided over the Meeting.
Members expressed their anguish over the Govt. inaction on BSNL Pensioners justified demands. The following issues were discussed prominently. (1) BSNL’s unilateral decision to curtail 50% of the existing medical allowance with voucher from April 2018; whereas, CDA pensioners medical allowance was doubled from Rs.500/- to Rs.1000 from July 2017. (2) Inordinate delay by BSNL H.Q. to extend the period of payment of Quarterly Medical Allowance in Cash without Voucher for the quarter ending December 2017 and March 2018 while paying the same those who opted for the said facility with voucher thus giving differential treatment to BSNL Pensioners. (3) No favourable Govt. decision yet on pay revision from Jan.2017 in BSNL though Cabinet Decision for implementing 3rd P.R.C. Recommendations though the clause relaxing the condition for losing making Government own PSU implementing the Government’s policy by concerned Ministry already available in Chapter 3 (4) The payment IDA arrear on 78.2% Fixation in Cash for the period from 01.01.2007 to 09.06.2013.
T.J. Jose, District Secretary spoke on latest position on all these issues. Members expressed their anxiety and offered their willingness to support the union in the agitational programmes ahead.
