MTNL/BSNL PENSIONERS PENSION REVISION – STATUS ON 24.03.204
GS/ SNPWA and GS/ MREWA discussed the issue of Pension Revision with the Director ( E)/ DOT; who revealed that DOT has sent various proposals, based on both the 7th CPC and 3rd PRC, to D.O.E for its advice and consideration.
After receiving the opinion of D.O.E, DOT will finally firm up the proposal, and, after informal consultations with various nodal ministries, finally will finalize the Cabinet note for approval of the Union Cabinet.
DOT has impressed upon D.O.E to expeditiously finalize its stand and send it to DOT as soon as possible. Hopefully, as per available indications, D.O.T. is optimistic that the final opinion of D.O.E may be received in about three weeks to a month. So far, the positive aspect relating to our Pension Revision is that DOT has not so far legally challenged the Judgment of PB CAT ND and is seriously working on working out an out of Box Approach mechanism to give us relief on Pension Revision. Let us see. We are keeping a close watch.
The Joint Forum of BSNL/ MTNL Pensioners Associations is expected to have a meeting with the Secretary (Telecom) only after the 4th of March since he will be returning from Barcelona on 4th March, 24.
