President PM MPs to take 30% pay cut for 2020-21 Salary of cabinet ministers and MPs by 30% in one year

The Narendra Modi government has taken a major decision on Monday to fight Corona. The government has decided to cut the salary of all cabinet ministers and MPs, including the Prime Minister, by 30 percent and this deduction will last for one year. Giving information about the cabinet decision, Prakash Javadekar said. The central government will issue an ordinance regarding this.
He said that the Union Cabinet approved the ordinance amending the Salary, Allowances and Pensions of Members of Parliament Act, 1954. The allowances and pension will be reduced by 30 per cent for one year from April 1, 2020.
He pointed out that the President, the Vice President, the governors of the states have voluntarily decided to cut pay as a social responsibility. The money will go to the Consolidated Fund of India.
Prakash Javadekar said that the cabinet has temporarily suspended the MPLAD funds to MPs for 2020-21 and 2021-22 to manage the adverse effects of Kovid 19 in India. 7900 crore rupees of MPLAD fund for 2 years will be used in the Consolidated Fund of India.
